Can I create a book about a grandmother and her grandchild?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Granny (or Grandad) can appear in the book alongside their grandchild. You can add up to 5 characters, up to 3 of them main heroes, so they can both be main heroes. A main hero needs a photo; for supporting characters it's optional (but it helps with the likeness). On top of the world and plot you've chosen, you can then add your own theme or plot in a few words — time spent together with Granny, for instance.

Can the story have a villain, like a devil or a wicked witch?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add any character you like — a devil, a wicked witch or anyone else. There's just one condition: the character mustn't come from a copyrighted work (such as Frozen, Star Wars or any other film, TV series, book or game). Those are protected works and we don't hold a licence for them. And of course you can add your own story or theme, and decide how this character behaves in the story and what role they play.

How do I create a book?

In just a few minutes and five steps: add the heroes and their photos, choose a world and a plot, pick an illustration style, fill in the details (language, dedication) and place your order from the summary. Then we get to work.

What kind of photo should I upload?

Accepted Answer

A sharp portrait, good lighting, the face clearly visible — and just one person in the photo. JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB; you can fine-tune the crop right in the guide. The photo doesn't have to be perfect — the AI uses it to create an illustrated hero, not a copy.

Can the book feature several children or the whole family?

Yes! You can add up to 5 characters, up to 3 of them main heroes. A main hero needs a photo; for supporting characters it's optional (but it helps with the likeness).

Can a pet or a favourite toy be a hero too?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a character can be a person, an animal or an object. The family dog or a cuddly toy can happily be a main hero alongside your child; an object (a favourite toy car, say) appears as a supporting character.

Can I add my own dedication?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the book has a dedication page — write up to 300 characters, or let the AI suggest a few options and pick one. And if you forget the dedication while creating the book, you can add it later in the editor at any time.

What age is the book suitable for?

Accepted Answer

You enter the hero's age when creating the book, and we adapt the length of the text and the vocabulary — from short tales for the littlest ones (0–1, 2–5) to longer stories for schoolchildren (6–8, 9–12).

Accepted Answer

30 languages — Czech, Slovak, English, German and many more. Ideal for bilingual families or a gift for someone abroad.

Which illustration styles can I choose from?

Accepted Answer

20 styles — cinematic 3D, watercolour, classic fairy tale, comic, anime, coloured pencils, plasticine and more, each with examples. The style you choose runs through the whole book.

Can I write my own story?

Accepted Answer

You build the story from our worlds and plots and add your own ideas — your own theme, your own plot in a few words, and a personal detail (a pet, a toy, something your child is learning right now…). You can't paste in a complete story of your own just yet, but you can edit the text of the finished book however you like.

How long does it take for the book to be ready?

We start working on your book as soon as you order. It's usually ready within 15 minutes — we'll e-mail you as soon as you can flip through it.

Why doesn't the character look exactly like the photo?

Accepted Answer

The AI creates an illustrated hero based on the likeness in the photo — it captures the hairstyle, hair colour and expression — but it's an illustration, not a photorealistic copy. If the likeness isn't right, regenerate the illustration with one click, or try uploading a different photo.

Can I pause creating my book and finish it later?

Yes, your book in progress is saved as you go. Without signing in, you'll find it in this browser for another 30 days; with an account, it's in My books with a ‘Continue’ button, wherever you are. You always have one book in progress — a new one picks up where you left off.

Do I need an account to create a book?

Accepted Answer

No — you can create and buy a book without signing up; all we need is an e-mail address to send the finished book to. An account is well worth it, though: all your books are in one place, and editing the text and regenerating illustrations only work when you're signed in. Books created in your browser are linked to your account automatically.

Can I change the book's title?

Accepted Answer

The AI suggests a title in the summary before you pay — you can ask for more options or rewrite it entirely your own way. Once the book has been created, the title on the cover can no longer be changed, so make sure you're happy with it before you order.
